Do you apply pressed powder after you apply liquid foundation?

If not, then what kind of powder?

And what brand do you use/recommend?

(first time user of makeup)Do you apply pressed powder after you apply liquid foundation?
Yes apply powder after foundation and primer. I find that I only need a little bit because I like a bit of a glow. Although the matte look is coming back so dewy is out, but I still think it makes for a better complexion to leave a little skin un-powdered.

I usually only apply a tiny amount to the centre of my forehead and my jawline. I use a highlighter to make my cheekbones shimmer, but you can get similar results with most cream blushers and bronzers (dab a little on your fingertips and if you have prominent cheekbones, make an 'O' with your mouth and smooth them up the line of your cheeks. If your cheekbones are more rounded, smooth a little onto the apples of your cheeks.)

I never powder the top of my forehead or my nose. It looks more natural and more people comment me on my skin when I've powdered less. That said, the other user is right in that it does make your makeup stay on for longer. But using a primer like the ones from Mac do the same thing.

FYI I use Rimmel Stay Matte Compressed Powder in 'translucent'. It doesn't look chalky and it's really cheap :)Do you apply pressed powder after you apply liquid foundation?
powder goes on after foundation to control shine.

i use all NARS cosmetics on my face. i swear the make the best foundations. the have about 16-20 colors and they are never orange tinted,im sure youd find your color. they even have a super white one for a very pale person like me haha. the oil free one is the one i use and it blends so well you cant tell im wearing makeup. i use NARS loose powder over that so i dont get oily. and i use MAC blot powder through the day.

NARS oil free foundation- $40-42

NARS loose powder- $34

MAC blot powder- $21

umm, stay away from MAC liquid foundations, they clog your pores and lead to breakouts, ive experienced them when i used them previously. %26amp; they tend to oxidize and look cakey and dark by the end of the day

hope that helps!(:

hayley
yes u can do. best to apply pressed powder after if you have oily skin, if you have dry skin then best not to as the powder will dry your skin even more!

i reccomend the revlon colorstay foundation, they also have the matching pressed powder %26amp; concealer.

heres a little more about this foundation:

1. its transfer-resistant.[which means that it wont go on clothes while getting changed ect...]

2. its got SPF in it. [protects skin from the sun!]

3. they have 2 kinds, 1 for combination/oily skin %26amp; 1 for normal/dry skin.

4. great coverage, %26amp; it stays on for 16 hours without moving at all!

5. %26amp; they have a wide range of colors so im sure u'll find ur perfect skin tone color. =p

oh %26amp; + its quite cheap!!!
You can do. I find that powdering my face after applying liquid foundation gets rid of any shine. But, its up to you. And any brand is good really - I use a Tesco liquid foundation and my pressed powder is talc! But good brands to buy from are Mac, or if you want affordable quality go for Rimmel.
It really isn`t that big of a deal. I don`t think you need to. If you add any other powder, it could be blush and bronzer. For those, (and liquid founation) I both use and reccomend Clinique. They have really high quality stuff that looks really good. If you go into their counter at department stores, they will make sure you get the perfect shade and type for YOU.
Yes. Apply your foundation first then apply your pressed powder. The powder sets your foundation and allows for easier application of eye makeup and blush.

I use mac products.
