Is it the norm now to use a brush instead of a sponge or wedge to put on liquid foundation?

i got a consultation at the Prescriptives counter and she put my makeup on with a brush. i decided to switch over to a lighter foundation so she matched me up with a sheer to meduim coverage foundation and powder. is it better to use a brush or should i just stick with the wedge? Is it the norm now to use a brush instead of a sponge or wedge to put on liquid foundation?
No, it isn't normal to use a brush. If you don't know how to use a brush then leave that up to the professionals. You will only get brush lines on your face and you don't want that. It is so much easier to get a very natural look if you just use your fingertips to apply it then pat gently with your fingers all over your face for texture. You will be surprised at the results. You can use a brush for applying powder over the foundation, but do it with a circular motion quickly over your entire face for a softer look. Be sure to apply mascara last.Is it the norm now to use a brush instead of a sponge or wedge to put on liquid foundation?
if it's powder your gonna stick wit a brush. liquid,a sponge. *hugs%26amp;kisses*
it doesnt really matter. . but yes the newest trend is to use a brush for a lighter, more natural look. but it does take some getting used to!! and also yes it is worth the 30$ investment to buy a good foundation brush!!
A brush will give you more of an airbrushed looking finish. A sponge with a liquid foundation will simply absorb your foundation causing you to have to buy more, sooner. Or if you prefer you can simply use your fingers to apply the foundation. Not touching your face while applying makeup is a myth, so don't worry about that. At any rate, good luck, and I hope this helps you.
what ever you are comfortable with i like toy use a wedge.
not for liquid..i didnt like the brush at all..i prefer washable sponges so i can wash them and they tend to cover up better...
yes,it is normal

all professional makeup artists use the brush to apply liquid foundation

using sponge(or wedge) is an old fashion for applying foundation

but at the end its ur choice. see what u r good at?which do u prefer?. and then choose:)

hope that helps

peace
it is personal preference really but a wedge sucks up a lot of foundation and it is a waste of product. You can also work with the product better with a brush.

I do use a brush however I use mineral makeup so mine is in powder form. Maybe you should buy a less expensive brush to expirament with. good luck:)
I have heard of that, and I have tried it. I think using your fingers, a sponge, or tissue works well to blend in the makeup, but a brush does work well, too. Whatever you like best!
depends what you like better

you probably have to learn how to use the brush tho, that does take some skill, use your wedge for now but if you have time tryout the brush

lots of professionals use brushes for application

and if you do decide to go with a brush, buy a good one, not some cheapo
