I am looking for a brand of makeup that is good for women of color. I more specifically looking for liquid foundation that is cheap and that is available at drugstores. thank youHi, I am a dark-skin teenager looking to wear liquid foundation for the first time. What should I do?
I use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation.
It's not a liquid. It's more sponge like.
It comes in 16 diffrent colors for light girls and dark girls.
When you put it on it doesn't feel cakey like most foundations it feels smooth and light, but it still covers up scars and acne.
It's doesn't cost allot of money.
You can get it at wall-mart, wallgreens, rite-aid, cvs, or anywhere like that.
Here is what maybelline says about it's product.:
Revolutionary whipped formula provides an air-soft, perfect matte finish coverage, with a weightless feel. Color pigments offer superior coverage. Blends effortlessly for a soft, natural-looking, even-toned result. Now in 16 shades.
For Best Results:
To perfect your skin tone, start by applying foundation down the center of your face first. Use just a small amount of makeup and blend it in thoroughly. Layer more if necessary to achieve the coverage you want.Hi, I am a dark-skin teenager looking to wear liquid foundation for the first time. What should I do?
Just make sure the color matches your own skin color. If it's too light you'll look ridiculous and if it's too dark you'll look funny too. The way to test the color match of liquid foundation is to test it on the inner part of your wrist. Place a small amount of the color on the inside of your wrist and blend in, you'll be able to tell if it's too light or too dark without having to buy the wrong color and put it on your face at home, just to go back and have to buy another color. CoverGirl has a nice, relatively cheap line of beauty products called Queen for darker skinned women, try that.
I agree with the mineral powder suggestion. However, if you choose to go with liquid, make sure that it's noncomedogenic (doesn't clog pores). AND make sure you wash and moisturize your skin every morning and night to prevent any acne breakouts.
The downside about buying at a drugstore instead sampling first through a dept. store cosmetics counter or somebody like a Mary Kay rep is you could spend a lot of money trying different shades. If you have a relative that has a similar shade of skin tone to yours, ask her what shade she buys.
I think foundation is the one thing a women should splurg on. Its really important to get a great match. Go to your local mall and try out some maybe, they should do it for free. Imani is a little over 10 dollars but it works great! Good luck!
liquid foundation is to heavy try power or minerals there light and won't cause that much acne in your face like liquid.
